Congratulations, Susan and family. What a beautiful house for you to enjoy. I am in the process of moving into a new townhouse in Buck's County, PA, and know how much work it a new home can be. Beautiful work!

Hi Susan!

Love your new house!! So much fun to plan and design from scratch. Having just redesigned our kitchen, I know exactly what you mean about the appliance angst. Actually, I had the most trouble with the oven because we did not want one with a cooling fan (not to be confused with the convection fan). The cooling fans are LOUD. Anyway, we ended up with an Electrolux five-burner gas range. The refrigerator was not much of a problem -- we bought the Samsung French Door model with the internal ice maker. Two things about my kitchen that I love the most have to do with water. First: my reverse-osmosis water purifier. Love. It. The best water purification and the best taste. Good-bye Poland Spring. We hooked it up to the refrigerator's ice maker as well. Second: The Tapmaster. (www.tapmaster.ca) Hands-free control of my sink faucet, just like in the dentist's office. Saves a ton of water and avoids using your eggy or beefy hands to turn on the faucet.

Hope you're having fun with the build! Just doing the kitchen was so all-consuming -- can't imagine doing a whole house!
