The area is still coated from the snowstorm. I put on my boots and trudged through the snow, which is still about 2 feet deep in many places, to capture the house from different perspectives. What should be an easy decision becomes a complex algebraic equation, which looks something like this: k(knob) = plumbing finish + cabinet style ÷ latest home decor [...] One space in the house that I am really excited about is our screened porch. This isn’t your father’s screened porch, but a virtual outdoor living room. The screened porch will serve as the transition space between the house and the back yard. No more rickety ladder climbs hoping my husband and builder won’t find out that I am sneaking up to check out the second story. The windows have now been installed in the house. They look great. I spent a lot of time thinking about the size and location of the windows, the colors, and the grids in the glass. It has all been worth it. Windows are expensive, and I have found that many houses do not take full [...] |
